Healing Through an Internet Business?

By Laurice F. Egerton

I endured abuse as a child. I'm sure most people today have some scars from some sort of dysfunction in their early family life. My purpose here is not to tell horror stories, but I will tell you about how it has affected my life.

My father was and still is an alcoholic. I was never angry at him for it. Alternately I felt sorry for him. He is a good man who loved his children and tried to teach them values. His addiction and relative lack of social skills led him to be distant, unreliable, and angry. My mother who felt guilty for what we had to go through because of his alcoholism and their relationship was very emotionally distant. I was the oldest of 6 and felt responsible for everyone's happiness and well-being. I'm not looking for sympathy. I am actually grateful for my trials and the empathy and determination I have learned through them. I will say that I had some serious scars.

My lack of self-love and trust issues ruined my first marriage. Which in turn almost ruined me. I had sworn that I would never put my children through unhappy parents or a divorce. But I did not know how to do anything different! The raw truth is that we live what we learn until the pain becomes so intense that we either change or cave. I caved, and then changed.

Getting rid of the insecurities and fears of my ego will be a lifelong process. But I can say that I can talk about my past now without tears. And, in contrast to the average 2nd marriage stats, mine is going really well. I credit this to being willing to look at my own faults.

I have always looked for ways to overcome my severe insecurities and deep-seated beliefs of being less-than or unlovable. I could recognize them, but had no idea how to change them. I am a very religious person, so I turned to my teachings there first. But, have been open to any new teaching or method that aligned with my current beliefs and offered hope.

I won't go into each of them in detail, as I would have to write a book (maybe I will). I have found yoga, meditation, service to others, extreme exercise (marathons, 100-200 mile bike rides, tri-athlons) a business that helps me personally and financially, and loving 8 children unconditionally to be helpful in my journey of healing. I wish I would have learned long ago what I know now through my business that has taught me a lot about the Law of Attraction. Maybe I wasn't ready to accept these concepts until now. Its funny how life throws things your way when it does.

Healing really only takes a decision. It sounds too simple, I know. It's changing your beliefs so that you can make the decision to be happy that takes the time and effort (well for most). It's that we get some sort of "peanut prize" for not letting our offenders off the hook by being totally free of the harm they've done. Well, guess what? You are not hurting them by holding on. You didn't put them on the hook, and you can't let them off. You can however, let yourself off, and decide to be happy. Be grateful for the good things, and move forward.

Gratitude. Yes, we can all be grateful for something on any given day, and probably in any given hour. If you start feeling sorry for yourself again, think of the approximately 5 billion people in this world right now that you wouldn't trade places with!

You are a human being, not a human DOING. So, stop trying to do things to make yourself feel better. Just BE. We learned more about what this means when visiting Ethiopia to get our two youngest children. In the face of poor living conditions, lack of food, and an orphan epidemic due to AIDS, most people were happy. They had discovered through tough circumstance that it is not circumstance that determines happiness, it is your mindset (or soulset), and a decision to be happy.

Believe me, I am not judging anyone who may be depressed, or has gone through difficult circumstances and is not happy. I have been there. I know that pain, and the work it sometimes takes to get through. I'm just hoping that my experience will help someone get to joy a little faster. It is how life was meant to be lived. "Men are that they might have joy.

All American and The Triangle Pub Best Burgers on Long Island NY

By LJ James

When it comes to food, I am no gourmet expert. I do however know what I like. Now there are many foods that I love and really like but when it comes down to it one of my Favorite foods has to be Hamburgers!

Now I have been all over and while I have been to some really great Burger Joints in Upstate NY and a few other states, I have spent allot of my life on Long Island in New York. There are many great places to eat here on Long Island but when it comes to Hamburgers I have two favorite places.

The first is "All American Hamburger Drive" in 4286 Merrick Rd Massapequa, NY 11758 this place has been around as long as I can remember. As a kid growing up every trip home from Jones Beach always ended with a stop at this old fashion Burger Joint. Their is always a line outside of All American but the wait is worth it. They have two Burgers I love Their Quarter pounder with Cheese and their Double Double which is a double Burger with double cheese. I have been trying to figure out which one I like better for years. I have had fun trying but have not figured it out yet, If I ever Figure it out I will let you all know ! All American also has some of the best Fries, Onion Rings, Knishes and Milk Shakes I have ever had!

Now where All American Hamburger Drive In sells a fast food style Burger and I love them, There is also another Style Burger which I love too and that is the Bar Burger! Their are many really great places on Long Island that sell some really Great Bar Burgers but as the old saying goes when it comes to the best "their can be only one"!

My Favorite Long Island Bar Burger I have had so far has got to be from the "Triangle Pub" 381 Old Montauk Hwy Eastport, NY 11941 I have been to this place a bunch of times over the years and their Burgers are always Great! Now I can only speak about their large Burgers (Never got one of the small ones). The Triangle Pub is known by many across Long Island for its Giant Burgers and Giant Glasses of Ice Cold Beer! There is not much to say about the place as I have never had anything there beside the Beer and large Burger meal. The people are friendly, The service is good, The Location is Nice and the Giant Burger and Beer Combo with French fries or onion rings is incredible. I love stopping by either for dinner or lunch !

Like I said before I am not a food expert I just know what I like. I have not eaten every where on Long Island so if you know of a place that you think serves better Burgers then the two I have just told you about then let me know what they are called and where they are located and I will be there!

I also really Like Chicken Wings!!! L.J. James www.americanbikerx.com Radio Show BikerLowdown.com

How to get Tax free for life money in your retirement account.

By johnkrol

The Roth 401k is particularly attractive to higher-earnings individuals, or those that would mostly likely be phased out of IRA contributions. Unlike the $5,000 max in the IRA, an employee could defer the full $15,500 for 2007, or $20,500 if they are over age 50. The Roth 401k works much like the Roth IRA, in that contributions are made with after-tax dollars and withdrawals are tax-free. Unfortunately, not all employers offer this new plan. The roth 401k, quite frankly, is a dream come true in my opinion. Ok so thats a little exaggeration but it truely is the best of both worlds - 401k and Roth IRA.

The Roth 401k accounts are first and foremost a 401k. Most of the same rules apply, including the early withdrawal penalty on all distribution recorded as "income". The Roth 401K contribution limit will be $15,000 in 2006. Note that the limit applies to the combimed contributions to the regular 401K and the Roth 401K; for example, a person could not contribute $15,000 to a Roth 401K and $15,000 to a regular 401K in the same year. The Roth 401k was adopted by 14% of Vanguard plans, and 5% of participants within these plans elected the option. Early Roth adopters included new plan enrollees, high savers, Web-registered participants, and high-income households.

The roth 401k bonus election with trap worked. The roth 401k bonus election in Chinese were doubtless an advantage is with the remarkably low weight of 500 lbs. The Roth 401k works inverse with the above idea. The money you earn this year is taxed this year. The Roth 401k is not always as good a deal as you've stated. For example, my marginal tax rate is 28%.

The Roth 401k plans are relatively new and many people haven't heard of them yet. Employers are slowly starting to offer them to employees. The Roth 401k was set to expire in 2010 unless congress renewed it. A lot of employers were reluctant to offer the Roth 401k because of its status. The Roth 401k plan is a post tax contribution where qualified distributions are tax free. The Roth does not allow deductible contributions.

The Roth 401k is a combination of the Roth IRA and the traditional 401k. It is a company-sponsored retirement plan, but it invests after-tax dollars to a retirement account. The Roth 401k minimum distribution rules are also similar to 401k withdrawals - meaning you need to start to take distributions when you reach age 70 1/2. The Roth 401K is a great plan too, and ALL employers SHOULD be offering it. Certainly if your employer is not offering this option, petition them to do so.
