By Matthew Calvin

When you are purchasing promotional leisurewear, it is always to your advantage to buy items of the best quality. After all, if they're anything less, the recipient is not as likely to wear them. High quality garments last longer and therefore are worn longer. This added benefit to you keeps your logo or brand in front of an audience long after the initial promotion has ended.

The promotional clothing has to be extremely enticing in their appearance to tow in audience attention. This may be argued upon to be an essential requirement for all promotional gifts. However, here, it must be understood that their visual attractiveness should in such degree that they not only catch a glance of the audience but appeals to include them in their everyday dressing. This is possible only when they adhere to the latest fashion trends. The innovativeness of design, colours used, novelty in cut and sophistication of finesse are some of the traits that need to be checked for their international quality of style.

The leisurewear also must be comfortable. Take care to order them in an assortment of appropriate sizes, so they'll fit properly. By its very name, leisurewear is meant for more casual outings, and for relaxing around the home. They should stay true to their intended use, whether as a sweater, a jacket, or a ball cap. And the more comfortable they are, the more they'll get used.

One of the advantages of promotional leisurewear is the wide plain surfaces they have for displaying your logo or message. When the garment is worn, it also is likely to attract a larger audience because of the possibility of printing on both the front and back. This will lower the chance that someone could pass by and not notice your marketing message. This added value should not be overlooked when designing the artwork to emblazoned on the product.

Create An Age Defying Resume

By Craig Calvin

You may not have had reason to update your resume in quite some time. If you suddenly find yourself in the job market, your same old style of resume likely won't get you the attention you deserve nowadays. Today's resumes are trending toward a fresher, more progressive tone. Since studies show that you only have less than 30 seconds for your resume to communicate its message, it is important that you make sure your resume is to the point. Use monetary gains and savings to accentuate the positive, and play down age.

Selling yourself to a business is what it is all about and in today's market, employers relate to value proposition. That's a term that job seekers would be wise to incorporate into their resume to help sell themselves. It relates directly to tangible results the employer can expect from you, whether from cost cutting measures, or sales promotions you've led, bosses today want to see more money on their bottom line.

Another change is the now common resume summary statement, which replaces the old fashioned one-line objective statement. The newer style takes a more direct approach to the employer, expressing how you can use your goals and values to increase their bottom line and make their company better.

Play up your experience and down play your age. You don't want your old style resume to present you as too old for the job. Older applicants sometimes aren't given fair opportunities, though probably not often on purpose. If the boss is 20 years younger than you, then he may shy away from hiring someone who he considers old. Despite age discrimination laws, this still does go on and you can't afford to draw unwanted attention to your age if you are older.

Streamline your work history and don't include all of it. Just include the most recent several years rather than the last 25. Watch your wording and be sure to use positive terms like "progressive" and "results-orient". Employers are looking for people who have current technical skills pertinent to the job. If there's a particular class or training you know may be important to landing a job, then you should go and take it. This will go a long way toward letting the employer that you are a forward thinking go getter, and you'll be much more likely to land an interview.

Hosting A Perfect Party Can Be Easy

By Carol Ann

At some time in most of our lives, we have hosted a party that has not been the greatest success. A party is a time for people to get together, eat and drink and have a good time, and it is up to the host to choreograph it so that it actually works. So what makes some parties successful when others are just humdrum? It all comes down to the planning. You will need to consider the theme, the menu, the guest list, and even decorations. There is a fine line, though, between hosting a great party and having an over planned event that isn't a success. Here are some helpful tips for your next great event.

THE GUEST LIST, INVITATIONS & THEME: First you must decide on the theme for the party. It may be a birthday party or a baby shower, or even a murder mystery party. There is a plethora of excellent ideas on the web. Don't overthink it. The guests will be key to your party's success. It is a good idea to invite different people who don't all know each other, so try and mix it up a little bit. They can get to know each other and that will make for good memories. Invitations can be in the form of a small note that is mailed, or these days e-vites over the internet have become very popular, since most have computers.

DECORATIONS & FOOD: Again, be sure to keep it simple. If you get too elaborate, what will happen is you will spend too much time working to pull the party off and not enough time enjoying the party and the people. Finger foods are great for a party. This way everyone can pick as they go. If you are planning a meal, then make it buffet style, this serves for better socialization and you can make some pasta dishes and put them over some sterno to keep them warm while people mingle. This will save you from having to run back and forth to the kitchen. Decorate to the theme, but don't go over board. A nice touch is having something festive in the entry way and in the party room itself. If you over do, once filled with people, they really won't appreciate the hard work you put in. A festive themed centerpiece works great as well as having everyone dress the part. If you do this, your guests themselves will be the decorations, which will save you time and money.

KEEP IT STRUCTURED: Try to have some music on, even if just radio. Turn it on low, and make sure it doesn't overtake conversations between your guests. You will be responsible for breaking the ice and getting things going. Getting guests involved can be fun. At a recent Hawaiian Luau I hosted, I greeted guests with a flower lei and a nametag with their name written in the ancient Hawaiian language. It was a fun way to get people talking.

Your party invitations should list a beginning and an ending time for the party. It is important for guests to have an idea of what is expected. If your event is too long, then you will have the inevitable stragglers and it can become uncomfortable for everyone who's left. I've found that hosting parties between two and four hours is a good formula. But the biggest key to your party's success will be the planning. Consider that, don't overdo it, and have fun at your next event.
