Posting To Your Blog With Relevance And Voice

By Don Bethune

The information you offer and the appearance of your blog are what is most important to your reader. The personal blog can be a profitable personal venture which you engage in from the comfort of home. Maybe you have an expertise in an area like politics or popular happenings? The viewers of your blog expect you to describe current events as they are happening so that they may enter into a discourse about them. During the heavy political season this October, blogs were often the first to offer news to their readers (even before major news outlets). Viewers of your site rely on your writings to give them your unique perspective on current events, as well as to be the first voice to sound off on an issue.

Your blog should consist primarily of up to date reports of information and occurrences. The voice in which you offer this information is what you sets your blog apart. Hopefully, you can be found through affiliate marketing programs, through RSS feeds, or through mobile device updates. Keeping these updates regular and timely is what readers look for in a blog they are confident about visiting regularly.

For example, in the midst of Hurrican season, meteorological blogs offer consolidate information from a number of places, into a single comprehensive location. These meteorological blogs update more frequently than popular news media, and in some cases update data immediately. The information coming in needs to be restated in a manor that is concise and makes sense to the reader. This information can be found easily on a number of websites which keep a live feed of this kind of information constantly updating for you to interpret and post for your readers.

Often times these weather websites link to a number of blogs which are specialized based on the writers are of expertise. These can range from topics of natural disasters to simple storm tracking or daily weather predictions. Again, this information is presented as soon as is possible for you to post it. People wish to know immediately of changes in weather within their area. Particularly during events like Hurricanes, you readers may live outside the area, but still wish to stay up to date on information as it happens.

At times when important weather events are occurring, meteorological blogs refresh information on the hour to keep up with reader's feedback. A recent hurricane, Hurricane Gustav saw several thousand responses from readers that were not even within areas hit by the storm, or even within the United States. However, their desire to know caused a tremendous rise in feedback. Blogs dealing with topics like a currently occurring hurricane may even draw the attention of people outside of the United Sates.

Tech Blogs update as news breaks from other sources. Financial blogs that follow market activity update during the day. Facebook blogs update as events occur in an individualas life, or when the blogger requests reader feedback on questions they are curious about.

The voice and relevance of your posts is what will keep your readers returning to your blog. Links to affiliates who market through your blog may offer you extra income, but can also distract readers from your information. Readers are ultimately coming to you for this information. However, offering links that relate to mutual interests that you and your reader share can be mutually beneficial.

Place links to things such as personal entrepreneurial opportunities off to the side in a neat manageable location that readers may explore as they wish. Whatever style you choose, be it to stay on or off topic, keep it consistent as they way you choose to offer you information, and in what way you offer it is what is going to regulate whether or not people return to your blog.

Targeted Opt In Email Marketing

By Jeff Dedrick

Bulk email marketing has been going on for quite sometime and with its success there have been many aspects of failure as well. The notion that you can just send a bulk email blast to thousands of random people and generate sales is becoming a thing of the past. As with any kind of marketing the best way to generate a really successful campaign is to use targeted email marketing.

In the past, people were more concerned with volume of the list more so than how targeted it was. It was believed that if you blast to as many people as possible you'll see positive results. Mailing in volume can give decent results in some cases, but you are also wasting resources and literally spamming. Keep in mind the new spam laws always require that your list is truly opt in and targeted. When you mail to a list that is targeted specifically to what you have to offer, you will see a much better conversion rate.

Your goal is to generate sales, and there is no better way to do this than with targeted email marketing. It is simply a great way to advertise what you have to offer. Once you follow all the laws that govern email marketing, and build your list to be opt-in and targeted to what your business is about, you can expect fantastic results.

You'll find companies offering targeted email lists for purchase, but I've found that the word targeted can be a bit confusing. Some companies that state their email lists are targeted, simply mean that the list was harvested based on categories, and not generated using legitimate opt in methods. Therefore, before purchasing any targeted email list, always inquire and get full details on how the list was generated.

Above all else, co-registration, and building the email list from scratch on your own, is truly the best and safest method of ensuring that you have a targeted email marketing campaign.

The Shoe That Thinks

By Dr. Joe Vitale

I suffer from heel spurs. These are calcium deposits on the bones that make running painful. I created them years ago, when I was an obese jogger. All that pounding on the pavement with all that weight caused the bones to make heel spurs.

Mine are large and painful. I went to the doctor and she said they were the biggest she had ever seen. I had to stop jogging. I had to wear shoe inserts. It was no fun.

Because I have the core belief that anything can be healed, I kept searching for a cure. One day I saw an ad for a new running shoe that seemed promising.

The shoe has a computer chip in it that analyzes where you are running and adjusts the shoe's heel to give you the best cushion. I know this sounds sci-fi but I was desperate. Plus I love cool gadgets. So I ordered a pair.

They arrived in a large box, protected by foam inserts. There were batteries and an instruction manual. I felt like I had ordered an odd new laptop.

But the shoes.

Ah, the shoes.

They looked like they were designed for Flash, the famous DC Comics character who could zip around the world in seconds.

I put the shoes on, turned them on, and grabbed the dog. We went for a run. I was amazed at how easy and smooth it was to jog again. I was running faster than the dog. I felt like I could run forever.

I felt like The Flash.

But the real deciding factor would be the next day. If there was going to be any pain, I'd feel it in the morning. In the past, if I did too much on my feet, I'd wake up with an aching heel. And I'd limp all day.

Well, the next morning came and there wasn't any pain at all. None.

In fact, I just moments ago went for yet another run in my new shoes. I got the idea to write this article for you while jogging down the road.

Now notice something:

Are you curious about the shoes I bought?

Has this story made you interested in them?

Do you want to know the name of them?

When I was in a meeting the other day, I told everyone about the magic shoes that think. My excitement was contagious. I saw people writing down the name of the shoes. Even though I wasn't "selling" the shoes, they wanted to know more and would probably even go buy the shoes.

Are you feeling the same way?

If you've ever suffered from heel or knee pain, you are probably reading this and yelling "TELL ME THE NAME OF THE SHOES, JOE!"

My point is this: A good story, told with passion, that promises a benefit, will always be hypnotic. It will always compel people to want to know more.

In short, hypnotic marketing is nothing more than sharing your sincere passion with the people who most want to hear it.

I'll say that again:

In short, hypnotic marketing is nothing more than sharing your sincere passion with the people who most want to hear it.
